Now during this time when Jesus was with His disciples, Thomas was absent. Then we can say to one another, "Peace be with you." A Christian requires the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to be able to truly forgive. Please understand that it is only as a Christian who has received the Holy Spirit that we can forgive one another from the heart. Jesus adds that we are to receive the Holy Spirit and we are to forgive one another (John 20:22,23). So the question is, "Has Jesus sent you?" But he added, "As the Father has sent Me, I also send you." The third thing to notice is that as a Christian, we are sent by Jesus Christ (John 20:21). Then He said, "Peace be with you" (John 20:21). Now Jesus showed His disciples the holes in His hands and the wound in His side. Are we doing the will of the Father? This is the Christian who can say, "Peace be with you." Jesus said that the one who does the will of His Father will enter heaven. When we consider ourselves Christian and we use the title Lord to refer to Jesus, we need to understand who Jesus considers to be a Christian. There was a time when Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter" (Matthew 7:21). Those of us who consider ourselves Christian sometimes use the title, "Lord," to refer to Jesus. Now I realize that some of us also call ourselves Christian because we have had a personal encounter with Jesus.īut who does Jesus consider to be a Christian? We need to go back to the Scriptures again. Or we attend a Christian church, so we consider ourselves to be Christian. Generally, this is because many of us were born into a Christian family. ![]() ![]() Who is a disciple of Jesus Christ? Now many of us consider ourselves to be Christian. The second thing to notice is that Jesus used this expression of peace with His disciples. When we choose to walk by faith with Jesus Christ, Satan no longer has to have control over our emotions and thoughts. By His resurrection, Jesus has defeated Satan and the power of sin. He did not use this greeting before His resurrection. The first thing to notice is that Jesus used this greeting of peace after His resurrection. ![]() And quite frequently we will express to one another, "Peace be with you." I would like to explore the Scriptures to discover what we are actually expressing to one another when we use this greeting.Īfter His death and resurrection, Jesus used this greeting three times when He met with His disciples (John 20:19-29). During our Sunday morning church services, we often take time to greet one another.

If you suspect that your cat is suffering from a food allergy, you may want to talk to your veterinarian. Similarly, the sound of raindrops may camouflage the chatter of people in the next room (both have a bell-shaped sound graph, said Pigeon) meanwhile, a drippy faucet can be “fixed” acoustically with the gurgle of a babbling brook. A musician with an advanced engineering degree, he recorded and analyzed the sounds, then played them back upon his return home, where he discovered that the ocean and its crashing waves seamlessly masked the whoosh of the cars. For instance, ASTI, maker of the Sound+Sleep and the LectroFan, was born when its founder noticed while on a trip to the beach that the sound of the ocean reminded him of the freeway noises outside his home (but more relaxing). But they may also mask offending noises, if they're similar enough. If you happen to find these sounds soothing, they might help you sleep or focus. Some white noise machines, such as the Sound+Sleep, also offer real-world sounds like that of rain, river, and ocean waves. ![]() However, if you have the sort of tinnitus that sounds like ringing in your ears, the steady, higher-frequency sound of white or blue noise may offer relief. That’s inefficient and unkind to your ears. ![]() In contrast, white noise, whose sound graph is a straight, horizontal line, won’t block the high-intensity low frequencies of a garbage truck until you ramp up the volume. For instance, the rumble of garbage trucks, the sound graph for which looks like a downward slope (as long as the X axis is linear), is handily masked by brown noise even at a relatively low volume, because brown noise is characterized by a lot of low frequencies and a similar downward-sloping sound graph. But a smarter way to mask noise is to choose the color with higher intensity in the frequencies matching that of the noise you’re trying to block, explained sound engineer Stéphane Pigeon. The white, pink, and brown noises you tend to find in sound generators can all mask annoying sounds to varying degrees, if you turn the volume up enough. In terms of measure theory, the differential entropy of a probability measure is the negative relative entropy from that measure to the Lebesgue measure, where the latter is treated as if it were a probability measure, despite being unnormalized. The default option for computing KL-divergence between discrete probability vectors would be. Elaborating on a previous work by Marolf et al, we relate some exact results in quantum field theory and statistical mechanics to the Bekenstein universal bound on entropy. Differential entropy (described here) is commonly encountered in the literature, but it is a limiting case of the LDDP, and one that loses its fundamental association with discrete entropy. Relative entropy is a method which quantifies the extent of the configurational phase-space overlap between two molecular ensembles 20. This is reflected by non-finite quantum relative entropy for orthogonal quantum states. ![]() Being orthogonal represents the most different quantum states can be. ![]() Unfortunately, Shannon did not derive this formula, and rather just assumed it was the correct continuous analogue of discrete entropy, but it is not. That is, the relative entropy is jointly semicontinuous.Differential entropy (also referred to as continuous entropy) is a concept in information theory that began as an attempt by Claude Shannon to extend the idea of (Shannon) entropy, a measure of average (surprisal) of a random variable, to continuous probability distributions. Let $M$ be a closed manifold and $\mathcal. Such relative entropy programs (REPs) are convex optimization problems as the relative entropy function is jointly convex with respect to both its arguments. Lowering the relative entropy be- tween prediction and observation can be done in many ways: we can revise the hypothesized causes that generated the prediction. Following is the definition we will use in this question. In the last two decades, information entropy measures have been relevantly applied in fuzzy clustering problems in order to regularize solutions by avoiding the formation of partitions with excessively overlapping clusters. There are several different definitions of relative entropy, and some of them are not equivalent. ![]() Effects, Borders and Text Become a visual master and mix effects, borders and text in a style that's completely your own.You have two modes to choose from - Circle and Tilt-Shift - giving your images the depth-of-field normally seen on professional-grade DSLR cameras only.
